RESEARCH GOALS/OBJECTIVES

Understand current state and executive vision

To understand the existing training workflow, and key strategic barriers faced by our client's executive leadership

Understand learner-trainer journey across workflow

To identify key challenges and expectations from labs and cytotechnologists (learners) and process inefficiencies

Identify opportunity areas and create future-state experience

To create actionable product and workflow concepts that could be implemented by our client in the upcoming training sessions

Test conceptual workflows and product conceptual prototypes

To identify key usability issues and areas of improvements in the conceptual workflows with key stakeholders.

OUR APPROACH

  • A two hour kick-off session with executive leadership  to
    • understand current-state high level workflows
    • understand key business challenges and limitations preventing change
    • identify interesting and opportunistic areas of inquiry with key stakeholders

  • A one day Immersion workshop that included key stakeholders and product/process owners to
    • to gain an in-depth understanding of the current state  with development, administrative and training team
    • maximize our access to all stakeholders together in one session

  • One-hour Contextual inquiry sessions across 3 labs in the USA and in-depth interviews with 2 labs in Europe to
    • understand challenges of labs and learners (cytotechnologists) in the training process
    • map current workflow and journeys for labs and learners

  • Two participatory  synthesis and design sessions with client team to
    • map data about the training and learning experience
    • map key dependencies between our client’s offering ecosystems and their partner lab’s ecosystems
    • surface key opportunity areas and craft future-state training/learning journey
    • surface key limitations with respect to existing legacy systems and FDA guidelines

  • Seven once/week sprints sessions with trainers, development team and three touch base with executive leadership to
    • refine future state training/learning workflows
    • evaluate conceptual prototypes and workflows and make improvements on them
    • maintain executive leadership vision alignment
    • hero concepts

  • On-going desk research over entire research and conception phase to
    • benchmark existing platforms for digital learning and education
    • understand cloud infrastructure & identity/access management across digital platforms
